Right now, I’m thinking Fall and pumpkins. There are a lot of STEM activities out there for our kids, but I like to incorporate themed activities into our lesson plans throughout the year. Create a ramp to roll the pumpkins down- time how long each one stays on until they fall off. That’s it At this time of year, pumpkin candy should not be hard to find. Kids can channel their inner engineer as they build amazing pumpkin structures using two materials: pumpkin candy and toothpicks. Fall also means we will be spending more days indoors than our kids would probably like. The following are some alternative STEM activities that you could do either in addition to or instead of the one listed above. While this activity does not call for the use of real pumpkins, it is an engaging themed activity nonetheless. Frosted windowpanes and the crunching of leaves under our feet mean Fall is back!
